GRENOBLE ECOLE DE MANAGEMENT

De Décembre 2013 à Aujourd'hui

The Orange - Grenoble Ecole de Management "Digital Natives" Chair is a teaching and research chair. Its mission is to create the building of the Digital Economy Management School, by integrating the new behaviour of « generation Y », aka 'Digital Natives' or 'Millenials' in order to develop suitable curriculum as well as trainings to harness the opportunities offered by their (supposed) digital and thechnological fluency.

http://www.grenoble-em.com/1981-orange-digital-natives-chair-2.aspx

Generation Y is usually considered to describe individuals born between 1980 and 1994. They have been interacting with digital from early age and have an hypothetical deeper understanding of its concepts and applications.

The goal of the "Digital Natives" is to understand these behaviors, but most importantly realize that these individuals are tomorrows next leaders and those who should already conduct the Digital transformation we need in our firms.
Digital natives workers and young graduate are the ones we need to lead these change; they are often found to be more collaborative, less hierarchical, more skilled in fun management, tech savvy and ideally prepared for reverse mentoring
But managing them is a challenge, requires different attitudes, techniques and incentives from the management
The Chair, established for three years has already a very clear roadmap and is putting in place various actions such as :
*« The Digital Native Culture Think Tank », which targets better understanding and interpretation of the digital practices of the younger generations, notably in terms of social networks.
* The « School Lab », a testing ground at the heart of Grenoble Ecole de Management which will enable the exploration of new digital services & content in collaboration with Orange labs
* The Master « Internet Digital Strategy & Web Management », designed to train new « bilingual » Digital manager to lead transformation
* A eLearning platform with MOOC's
